FAQ's

How can we as a Ministry or Church Partner together?

A partnership between your church/ministry and MSFI would provide supply boxes for short-term
trips being sent from your church/ministry.  We will gather various items, store and package them
for each team member, and deliver these boxes to the church/ministry prior to the departure of
the team.

Where Do the Supplies Come From?

The supplies come from various sources; some are purchased in bulk wholesale, some are
items donated to MSFI, some are purchased from various ministries around America at the cost
of their handling fees.  MSFI gathers many supplies that have been discontinued, overstocks, or
are unsold product.

What Types of Supplies Will Be Available?

Small toys, hair pieces for girls, candies, markers, crayons, pens, coloring books, hair brushes,
costume jewelry, lotions, shampoos, soaps, ointments, health care items, vitamins, toiletries,
etc.:  these are some of the various types of items MSFI will be gathering on a regular basis for
our basic miscellaneous supply boxes.  Medical supplies and hand/power tools are some of the
supplies that will be available on a request basis only.  The medical supplies vary in availability,
for example; everyday items like gowns, towels, and wrappings, will be more readily available.
Certified medical equipment is much harder and relatively more expensive to obtain.  Hand and
power tools will be bought in bulk at wholesale prices only when a church/ministry has a need for
such items.  The certified medical equipment and tools will vary in handling cost according to the
cost to MSFI, but will be at a much  lower price than purchasing new.

Is There a Cost?

There is a cost, but it is not based on the value of the contents of the box.  The cost for any
boxes  will include the shipping and handling fee plus additional fees to cover the ministry's cost
for the items.  No equipment, tool or supply is priced according to its value, but on the cost to
acquire, store, repackage and deliver.  The shipping and handling fee covers the expense to
obtain supplies have them shipped to MSFI's warehouse in bulk, stored, repackaged, and
delivered to your church/ministry, and includes the administrative costs of MSFI.

Where Can These Supplies Be Used?

Many of the supplies obtained by MSFI come with the stipulation stating that they must be taken
outside of the continental United States.  If your church/ministry is planning a stateside mission
trip, please contact us ahead of time, and we will work with your to help with these particular trips,
and do our best to gather supplies that can be used stateside.

What is so Important About a Supply Box?

In recent years, short-term mission trips have become a vital part of ministry to those on the field
as well as to those in stateside churches or ministries.  From day one, supplies for the trips have
been gathered and packed away in suitcases headed for the uttermost.  As the numbers
increase in trips, gathering of supplies becomes more expensive, as well as cumbersome and
hectic.  It is our desire at MSFI to help alleviate some of the high costs in gathering supplies, but
also to work with your church/ministry to gather things that are needed for your team.

How Do We As a Church/Ministry Cover This Handling Fee?

The fee per box can simply be an added cost of the trip for each team member.  As they raise
their support for their trip, which includes health insurance, tickets, hotels and food, they would
also raise the cost of the fees for their supplies.

When Do We Make the Payment for the Handling Fee?

Payment methods will be agreed upon during the church/ministry's application process.  To
enable MSFI ease in operation, pre-payment is preferred.  Pre-payment would be easily paid two
to three months prior to departure, or in a similar time frame that monies are turned in for plane
tickets.   If paid C.O.D., when boxes arrive at your church/ministry, payment will need to be made
upon delivery.
